Many of you asked how the name OK Hook and Chatter came about.

One year for Mother's Day, Bill had a business card hand printed for me.  The card was beautifully done on a hand press with a block-carving of a chicken.  Oh, how we both love hand-made items.  The card had a chicken in the middle and the words "hook and chatter" were on it.

I said to Bill Laraway, my dh, why?  He said some day I might want a rug hooking studio business and, of course, you will need a name for it.  But HOOK AND Chatter???? He said that's what you do, isn't it?  Uhm...Hook and Chatter....he was right.  That is what we do, hence the name.

Another year has passed, do you believe it? We are pleased to invite you to attend Winter Rug Camp of 2011.  Jayne Hester has opened her wool studio in Valatie and is hosting the 2011 rug camp.  You will have access to many wools, patterns, and the expertise of Jayne as the teacher.

Jayne will be teaching a 3-day session, working with you on the pattern of your choice.  She will help you color plan your dirty-muddy, colored rug which will include dancing colors.

The wool studio is aptly named “OK Hook & Chatter”.  This is a warm and cozy space.  Jayne has made arrangements for lodging: two bedrooms (two twin beds in each room, shared bath) for those that would like lodging accommodations.  There are additional lodging accommodations available locally; if you would like information on those, contact us and we will send you a list of local motels.  Reservations and registration for the Winter Rug Camp 2011 are necessary due to the limit of eight students to participate in the 3 day session.
